Travel myths are often passed around and believed by many, but are they really true? From the idea that travel is cheaper if you book on a Tuesday, that you don't need travel insurance and more. There are many misconceptions that can hold people back from exploring the world. In this article, we will debunk some of the most common travel myths and provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions about your future travels. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or planning your first adventure, read on to discover the truth about these popular travel myths.
1. You can get cheaper flights when you book on certain days and times. FALSE ❌
That is one of countless outdated myths that continue to circulate to this day. Here’s the truth: Tuesday is not the cheapest day to book flights – the best day to book flights is whenever you find a cheap deal. And cheap flights can pop up at any hour, every day of the week. It’s less about the day, and more about using the right tools (and having the right mindset) to find a great deal. I recommend Google Flights to track flights and now they are allowing you to get a rebate if your fare goes down after purchase (see their rules and guidelines)
2. You don’t need travel insurance. FALSE ❌
Travel insurance will protect you against illness, injury, theft, and cancellations. It’s comprehensive protection in case anything goes wrong. As a travel advisor, I use Arch RoamRight. DM me for a link to use for quick sign up
3. You must always exchange currency at airport FALSE ❌
At airports, the currency exchange offers the tourists and travelers their service luring them with the tagline ‘no fee’. However, a regular person doesn’t know that usually the fee is already built in such deals. So, it would be suitable for anyone to go to their bank and get foreign money exchanged for the XYZ value at least a week in advance.
In conclusion, it's important to remember that not everything you hear about travel is true. Always keep an open mind and do your research before making any assumptions. By challenging these common travel myths, you can break down the barriers that might be holding you back from embarking on your next adventure. So go ahead, book that trip, and experience all that the world has to offer! Happy travels!
