American Airlines raises bag fees
American announced on Tuesday that checking a bag on a domestic flight will rise from $30 now to $35 online and $40 if purchased at the airport. The fee for a second checked bag will rise from $40 to $45 both online and at the airport. They are making other changes to push customers to buy tickets directly from the airline if they want to earn frequent-flyer points.
Eiffel Tower closed from worker strike
Eiffel Tower has been closed for 4 days as staff voted to extend a strike over the monument's management, unions said Friday. The stoppage since Monday at one of the world's best-known tourist sites is the second within two months in protest of what unions say is insufficient investment.
The tower's operator, SETE, has advised tourists to check its website before showing up, or to postpone their visit.
Miami Beach officials say they're implementing new measures in hopes of "putting an end to spring break"
If you plan to do spring break in Miami expect curfews, security searches and bag checks at beach access points, early beach entrance closures, DUI checkpoints, bumper-to-bumper traffic, road closures and arrests for drug possession and violence. The main focus is two "high-impact" weekends in the middle of March — Friday, March 8 through Sunday, March 10 and Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17 — which are the busiest weekends of the spring break season.
United Airlines will be the first US airlines to resume service to Israel
United Airlines is set to resume Israel service early next month to Tel Aviv, following suspension of service related to the war between Israel and Hamas.
On March 2 and March 4, the airline said it will operate flights from Newark to Tel Aviv with a stop in Munich, Germany, with return flights from Israel to Newark on March 3 and March 5..
