Did you know that Staples offer TSA PreCheck appointments?

Yes, participating locations are offering the convenience of not having to drive to your nearest airport. Its just 3 easy steps:

  1. Find a participating store (PLEASE NOTE: Call to confirm because I had to call 3 locations that were listed on the site before I found one that offers this service)

  2. Enroll online

  3. Schedule appointment (make sure you select the Staples store you want)

In case you don't know what TSA Pre-check is, let me break it down.

TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program that makes risk assessments about passengers prior to their arrival at an airport checkpoint. TSA PreCheck enhances aviation security and provides a better travel experience. The program has expanded to approximately 200 airports across the country and millions of passengers have enjoyed the benefits of this program since its inception.

Eligible TSA PreCheck travelers include:

  • U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents enrolled in TSA PreCheck.

  • Members of Global Entry.

  • U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who are members of SENTRI.

  • U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents and Canadian citizens who are members of NEXUS.

  • Members of the U.S. Armed Forces including those serving in the National Guard and reserves as well as government employees from select agencies.

  • Cadets and midshipmen of the U.S. Military Academy, Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy, Air Force Academy and Merchant Marine Academy.

  • Passengers 12 and younger traveling with an eligible passenger.

  • Passengers who are selected using existing Secure Flight system requirements while traveling on participating airlines.

Eligible passengers flying both domestically and outbound internationally from participating airports, as well as passengers with connecting domestic flights who arrive in the United States on an international flight, may use the TSA PreCheck lanes when going through the screening process.

TSA PreCheck® is currently available at more than 200 airports with 85+ participating airlines nationwide

Here are the benefits:

  • Allows low-risk travelers to experience faster, more efficient screening at participating U.S. airport checkpoints for domestic and international travel.

  • You get to keep your shoes, jacket and belt on; your laptop in its case; 3-1-1 compliant liquids in your bag

The cost at Staples is $78 for 5 years and the appointment should take about 10 minutes.

There are few ways to get TSA PreCheck for free. See below:

  1. All active members of the U.S. Armed Forces can receive TSA PreCheck benefits by entering their Department of Defense identification number as their Known Traveler Number. This includes those serving as Reserves and National Guard, as well as cadets and midshipmen attending a military academy

  2. Some credit cards reimburse TSA PreCheck application fees every four to five years (call your company to see if you have this benefit)

  3. Some airline and hotel loyalty programs, such as United MileagePlus and Marriott Bonvoy, allow you to redeem miles and points to pay for TSA PreCheck application fees.

Believe me, this is a game changer. Having this is a great benefit especially with the expected surge in travel this summer. It will help you enjoy a better overall stress free travel experience.
